YOUTH
PROGRAMS
Tend Your Fire offers mentoring groups and multi-day retreats cultivating self esteem, authenticity and skills needed to help youth make choices that lead to happy, healthy lives.
The transition from pre-teen years through young adulthood is full of growth, beauty, awkwardness, confusion, pain and joy.
Age appropriate education and having someone to TALK TO can encourage the confidence and connections necessary to navigate the tumultuous years in a healthy grounded way.
TOPICS WE COVER:
-
We believe everyone deserves to have healthy relationships. We are social creatures and thrive in community regardless of our personality type. We teach the skills needed to be in relationship. We are passionate about helping people discover their true nature and how to best relate with others authentically, honestly, with care and kindness. We teach about how to handle rejection and learn to say no when we mean no and yes when we mean yes.
-
Preteen and teen years are all about identity. Who am I? Who am I becoming? Who am I in relation to my family and caregivers? We explore how to choose authenticity and personal truth over social acceptance. We explore self-knowing and self-love. Our circles are always a safe place to talk about gender identity.
-
We all have a unique relationship with our own bodies, desires and sexuality. Learning what is true for us and how to articulate our truth, needs and desires can help us navigate the myriad relationships with friends and partners. We explore consent and healthy, clear communication about our bodies.
BODY IMAGE: HOW DO WE ACCEPT OUR GROWING CHANGING BODIES?
The body is developing rapidly at this time and young people have a right to know how it’s changing and what they can expectRELATIONSHIP TO MENSTRUATION: Females are cyclical. We are part of nature. When we understand our cyclical nature we can harmonize with our POWER.
SEX EDUCATION: We provide a safe space for youth to ask questions and receive honest answers, sharing fact based, age appropriate information. We work with a variety of grade specific sex education curricula while delivering it in a safe, fun and student led learning environment.

UPCOMING TEEN PROGRAMS
TEA TIME
for middle school girls+ ages 11-13
OCTOBER 2025 - JUNE 2026 SCHOOL YEAR
A girls+ group that meets consistently each month for 8 months. The 8-month arch will culminate in an overnight camp out where we will hold a ceremony to celebrate our journey together and further embody all that we’ve learned over the course.
Over the 8 months we come together to share in council, build trust and talk about what is current in our lives and in our hearts. We explore, through the art of inquiry, our inner life and how that forms our connections with family, friends, teachers and mentors. We will always share some TEA! And eat snacks.
+We understand gender identity to be fluid and expressed in many ways. Our programs welcome teens along the gender spectrum who are assigned female at birth. All sexual orientations are welcome and celebrated. We welcome queer, non-binary or exploring gender identities. All youth deserve to feel seen, safe and significant and to feel that they belong.
-
We will share age appropriate puberty and reproductive health information. Our curriculum is an introduction to sex-ed similar to what is presented in the 4/5/6th grades at school. Our intimate and connective container can help the information land in a grounded holistic way.
We always include, play, poetry, nature time, earth based art and crafting that relate to our current curriculum.
-
Building trust and connection among women is unfortunately a revolutionary act. It’s high time we connect in love and support of feminine wisdom and abolish the old paradigm of competition and degradation of people in our communities.
Our girls’ groups are always a place for young people to have a trusted adult to TALK TO about the things they care most about, a place to ask all their questions and build healthy connections with peers, learning to connect respectfully across difference.

TEA TIME
for high school girls+ ages 14-19
OCTOBER 2025 - JUNE 2026 SCHOOL YEAR
With age comes responsibility and more complex decision making. Having a grounded center throughout the tumult of teen years is essential. Join a girls group that meets consistently each month for 8 months. The 8-month arch will culminate in an overnight camp out where we will hold a ceremony to celebrate our journey together and further embody all that we’ve learned over the course.
Over the 8 months we come together to share in council, build trust and talk about what is current in our lives. We will have nature time and make art. We explore, through the art of inquiry, our inner life and how that forms our connections with family, friends, romantic partners, teachers and mentors. We will always share some TEA! And eat snacks.

We will share age appropriate sex and reproductive health information. Our curriculum is concurrent with sex-ed presented in the 9-12th grades at school. Our intimate and connective container can help the information land in a grounded way. We explore the idea of fertility, something not typically spoken in young women’s lives. Tend Your Fire is dedicated to help young women understand the arch from menarche to menopause so that they gain the women’s wisdom needed to navigate this life. We focus primarily on the age and stage they are in.
We always include, play, poetry, nature time, earth based art and crafting that relate to our current curriculum.

FIRST MOON INITIATION
for girls+ as they begin to mensturate
COMING SOON! FILL OUT FORM TO INQUIRE
A multi day process of honoring childhood and stepping into the teen years with love, support and connection to the participants inner vision of who they are becoming. For the most part, our patriarchal culture disregards, attempts to mask, and keeps quiet this very profound, integral and powerful part of a women’s life experience. When we reclaim our moontime and our fertility we can truly become empowered, awake, healthy and visionary women - contributing more fully to a life-giving, loving and connected culture. Women’s wisdom rooted in wholeness has been missing from our societal and cultural design for far too long.
This ceremony will be co-created with the family/caregivers of the girl experiencing the onset of her menstrual cycle or with a group of girls and their families/caregivers. We design these rituals to involve the family at varying levels depending on the participants desires.
EMERGING ADULTHOOD
Transitioning from teen years to
early adulthood
COMING SOON! FILL OUT FORM TO INQUIRE
Highschool graduations are beautiful, powerful ceremonies and are indeed a modern-day acknowledgment of the HUGE transition young people make completing high school and often moving away from home.
We believe that youth on the brink of young adulthood are needing more! Our program provides a container that allows adequate time with each participant in our smaller group setting. Through thoughtful inquiry we can help youth discover the gifts and longings that they want to uplift, while helping them acknowledge patterns and road blocks that might be holding them back from their version of a fulfilled successful life.
This passage can help youth gain the self love and awareness that will set them up for healthy decision making and a life rooted in love and connection.
Initiation and rite of passage ceremonies have existed pan-culturally for centuries to help us grow and thrive in connection to nature’s mysteries, power, and wisdom. In today’s world people are busy, distracted and addicted to screens, substances, information, and so many material things, all of which can leave us feeling depleted and disconnected from each other, wild nature, and our true nature.
Taking the time to honor transitions from one phase of life into another, or significant events like the loss of a loved one, or a medical diagnosis, can help us gain insight, gather wisdom from the past and see a clearer future. Purpose can emerge and our life can become more meaningful, joyful and aligned with our true selves. It’s a ceremony of connection. One of remembering who we are and what we’re here to do.
RITE OF PASSAGE STRUCTURE
-
This is where we ask who am I now? What is important for me to let go and acknowledge in order to move forward in my life. It’s the part of the ceremony where we ask what needs to die so I can live more fully, What can I celebrate and give thanks for about where I’ve been. You will be supported in this process by your community and your guides as you really ask yourself: what needs letting go, and what am I calling forward?
-
The threshold phase is the solo/fast phase of the ceremony where you go alone, leaving behind the comforts to be in nature. This is a liminal space…the space between who you have been and who you are becoming.
-
This is where we bring all that you know and all that you are becoming into the body. Incorporation happens when you reunite with your guides and fellow participants to tell your story. This is a process. It only begins here in our ceremony. Incorporation will continue as you integrate back into your next phase, bringing the gifts you’ve gathered back to your life and your communities.
